The lights up and the seats empty

The 2nd ethnographic film festival ended with great success and it gave us the certainty and the strength for the next steps. The warm response of the audience and its diversity showed us that the idea for this effort has now a strong basis.

The increase of the films which were submitted for participation in our programme not only caused us a pleasant surprise, but also it was the main reason for the additional (3rd) day which was embraced by everyone.

From these lines  (and soon from our official website) we would like to send our gratitude to all the people who came to the screenings and participated on the discussions during these three days, to all the filmmakers who sent us their films and of course all the friends who helped so that this event would take its final form.

Without them the festival could not be a reality.

A special thank the filmmakers Balz Andrea Alter, Fedor Ikelaar, Sila Michalaka, Gianni Drini, Natalia Koutsougera and Fotini Stefani who came to the festival, presented their films and answered the questions of the audience .

We would also like to thank Anne DREW, Robert DREW and the Drew Associates Inc, Kyle BOYNTON and the IndieFlix, Shannon CAROLL and the Documentary Educational Resources (DER), Susanne HAMMACHER and the Royal Anthropological Institute (RAI). Their help was valuable.

Finally, a big thank to Nixon Cinema, the magazine ‘diavazo’ and of course our supporter, the centre for Visual Anthropology of Goldsmiths College-University of London.
